Why volunteer

Multiply Compassion Through Service

Ukoo Love volunteers do more than deliver aid — they build relationships, mentor young people, and model the cycle of compassion we believe changes families for generations.

Whether you serve for a weekend, three months, or longer, you join a vetted team working alongside local partners who know their communities best. Every role includes orientation, safeguarding training, and clear expectations.

  • Meaningful roles aligned to Education, Livelihood, or Girl Child Support
  • Field and remote opportunities for diverse skills
  • Safeguarding-first culture for children and vulnerable adults
  • Certificate of service and reference on completion

Contribute from anywhere: grant writing, graphic design, translation, data entry, social media, IT support, and virtual mentoring for students.

Education & mentorship

Tutor students, assist teachers, help with literacy programs, or mentor youth through our Education Support pillar.

Youth ambassadors

Represent Ukoo Love in schools, churches, and campuses — raising awareness, organising drives, and inspiring peers to pass love forward.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need prior humanitarian experience?
No. Many volunteers bring professional or life skills from other fields. We provide orientation and match you to roles that fit your experience level.
Are placements paid?
Volunteer roles are unpaid. Field placements may have basic support arrangements depending on the site and duration — we discuss this during onboarding. Remote and ambassador roles are flexible and self-directed.
Can I volunteer from outside East Africa?
Yes. Remote skills-based roles and youth ambassador programmes welcome international applicants. Field roles may require travel to Uganda or Kenya and appropriate visas.
How long does the application take?
We aim to respond within 5–10 business days. Peak seasons may take slightly longer. You will receive email updates at each stage.
